Oh man am I tempted!!

Trying (in vain) to go over the 899 histo slides that could be on our spotter tomorrow...not to mention the >4000 anatomy slides. I figured I'd put my final (weak) efforts into histo because I can generally figure out what gross specimen I am looking at.

Which magnified tissue the randomly arranged little pink and purple dots came from though is a completely different story...EEEK!

I've figured out that histo and anatomy are easy if you love patterns. If you are diagramatic and love to memorize then it's not so much fun. Did you have learn EM as well? We had/have to be able to pick out what the cell type is by EM as well as H&E.

Yep, our spotters are MRI, CT, EM, H&E, and dissections.

Our anatomy program here is quite good, it is the only part of the USMLE that I consistently do respectably on. Plus our profs are very dedicated to making it clinically relevant, which is nice.

The only downside is we don't learn eponymous names which left me high and dry a few times last summer in the OR! Though I think in the long run that is a good thing...

It's reading stuff like that which makes me more grateful my school does a horrible job teaching pathology.

Incidentally, we have a Canadian Ex-Pat from Limerick down here now on rotation. Everytime I see him, I'm half tempted to just ask "hey, do you know a Canadian girl, she's living in Ireland now, has a blog and a French Canadian beau?" before I realize how dumb that question is.

IANH: What is his name?? There are only 17 Canadians in the year ahead of me so there is a pretty good chance we know each other!

Just don't mention the blog, I am actually trying to keep that on the low down amongst fellow classmates.

Good idea!

I have a 2005 bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape cellaring for the evening after I finish the MCAT.
